First published 3 April 2020. Expanded in October 2026 so a closed redemption is not described as an open offer. ANT is an Ethereum token. Luis Cuende and Jorge Izquierdo are the people most associated with Aragon. The sale on 18 May 2017 raised 275,000 ETH, about 25 million dollars, in about 26 minutes. The software was for setting up organizations on Ethereum. A piece of that software is not ANT. The 2017 note put the supply near 39.6 million and said the network could change the policy later. A figure from that week is not a live count.
On 2 November 2023 the Aragon Association said it would dissolve, and that holders could redeem ANT for ETH at 0.0025376 ETH per token. It said it had sent 86,343 ETH to a contract for that purpose, and that there was no further purpose in holding ANT. The window closed on 2 November 2024. The project’s report says 87 percent was redeemed. The offer is not open. Unredeemed ANT is still a token on Ethereum. It is not a claim the association will still pay.
ETH pays the fee. ANT does not. The wrong network is still the wrong city. Nothing here is an instruction to redeem, to start an organization, or to buy ANT.
