First published 3 September 2020, the day after genesis mining started. Expanded in October 2026 so the old unit is not described as the new one, and so a swap site is not described as TRON itself. SUN is a TRON token. Justin Sun is the person most associated with the chain it sits on. sun.io is a site for swaps and pools. The token is not a share of TRON. What is TRON (TRX)? is the chain. TRX pays a TRON fee. SUN does not. What is Curve (CRV)? is a different protocol the project compared itself to. SUN is not CRV.
Genesis mining started on 2 September 2020. People staked TRX and the contract paid SUN. The whitepaper set the supply at 19,900,730 and said there was no pre-mine and no team allocation. On 26 May 2021 the project redenominated. One old SUN became 1,000 new SUN. The count went from 19,900,730 to 19,900,730,000. The market value of a holding was not meant to change. Old tokens were renamed SUNOLD. This page means the new unit. A balance still labeled the old way is a thousand times off if you read it as the new coin.
A pool on sun.io can return fewer of the coins you deposited when the price moves. That is the trade. This page will not walk through a pool or a stake. A SUN address is a TRON address. It is not an Ethereum address. The wrong network is still the wrong city. Nothing here is an instruction to mine, to swap SUNOLD, or to buy SUN.
