First published 5 April 2020. Expanded in October 2026 so a phone company is not described as the token. TEL is an Ethereum token. Claude Eguienta and Paul Neuner are the people most associated with Telcoin. The sale opened on 11 December 2017. On 31 December 2017 the team said it had closed, at a hard cap of 25 million dollars. The 2017 paper set the supply at 100 billion and said the token was a contract on Ethereum, not its own chain. A mobile operator that sells the token is a company. That company is not TEL.

The paper put 25 billion, a quarter of the supply, into the sale. The rest sat with the project. A figure from that paper is the design, not a promise about what is free to trade today. A balance at a phone company is that company’s ledger. An exchange balance is an IOU, not a wallet.

ETH pays the fee. A later network that uses the same name is a different send. The wrong network is still the wrong city. Nothing here is an instruction to send a remittance, or to buy TEL.
