First published 26 December 2022, the day after the airdrop. Expanded in October 2026 so a burn is not described as a dividend, and so 100 trillion is not described as the supply still in existence. BONK is a token on Solana. It launched as a distribution to people who had used Solana, not as a sale, on 25 December 2022. The launch figure was 100 trillion. About half of that went out in the airdrop, unlocked. A further slice, about a fifth, was for early contributors on a three-year vest from January 2023. That vest has finished. An unlock was coins that already existed. What is Solana (SOL)? is the ledger. SOL pays the fee. BONK does not. What is Pepe (PEPE)? is the same shape of token on Ethereum. A picture of a dog is not a protocol.
The mint authority has been revoked. The contract cannot create more BONK. Burns destroy coins that exist. The project and apps in its orbit have burned tokens, including a large burn at the end of 2024, and the total burned is whatever the chain shows, not a press line. A burned coin is gone. It is not paid to the people who still hold some. A price times 100 trillion counts coins that have been burned. The supply that exists is the launch figure minus the burns.
The 2022 airdrop is closed. A link that says claim BONK, and asks for a recovery phrase, is not that distribution. A wallet signature is not a handshake. A treasury the project calls a DAO spends tokens it already holds, by vote. A vote is not a dividend, and a burn programme an app funds with fees can stop.
BONK on another chain is a bridge copy. A Solana address will not receive it there, and an Ethereum address will not receive the Solana token. The wrong network is still the wrong city. Nothing here is an instruction to claim, to burn, or to buy BONK.
