HODL

Internet slang for holding coins through volatility. Not a plan.

HODL began as a typo for “hold” on an old forum. It became a slogan: do not sell. Slogans are not risk management. Holding an asset you do not understand, on an exchange you cannot withdraw from, is not the same as a long-term view of a protocol.

If you use the word, still know who holds the keys and what you would do if the price went to zero.
