NFT

Also called non-fungible token

A token that points at a specific item, often a receipt for a file, not a new law of art.

A non-fungible token is a unique entry on a ledger, usually with metadata pointing at an image or other file. Owning the token is not the same as owning copyright, and the file often lives on someone else’s server.

An NFT sale is a receipt plus a market. It is not a new art law, and it is not automatically a good investment.
